Appeal for information following shoplifting and assault incident in Petersfield

Officers investigating a shoplifting and assault incident in Petersfield are looking to identify a man who may be able to assist them.

We received a third-party report that on Friday 8 May, a member of the public was assaulted by a man that he had attempted to stop from shoplifting, at the Tesco on The Causeway.

Officers have been carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances, such as reviewing CCTV footage, and are looking to identify the man in this image, who is not a suspect, but was in the store at the time and may be able to help us with our enquiries.
